Record crypto donation to Reform UK

Nigel Farage's Reform UK received seventy two million pounds from cryptocurrency magnates Christopher Harborne and Ben Delo, split equally between them. This is the largest single political donation in British history.

Farage says voters are impressed

Speaking in Doncaster, Farage claimed people were quite impressed by the donation, saying it generated grudging respect rather than the public backlash he initially feared would force him into hiding.

“The fact that I managed to pull off a coup of that magnitude, I think people were quite impressed”

Standards inquiry over separate gift

Standards inquiry over separate gift

The parliamentary commissioner for standards, Daniel Greenberg, interviewed Farage at the Palace of Westminster for thirty minutes about whether he breached rules by failing to register a five million pound gift from Harborne in two thousand twenty four.

Farage denies wrongdoing, faces suspension risk

Farage strongly denies breaching parliamentary rules, saying the five million pounds covered only his personal security expenses. If the commissioner rules against him, he could face suspension from the House of Commons and a by-election in his Clacton constituency.

Reform slips in polls, blames visibility drop

Reform UK has lost its earlier lead over Labour and faces pressure from the Conservatives. Farage said the party has entered a trough, attributing the decline to reduced personal visibility, damaging headlines about party finances, and vote-splitting from Restore, a far-right party founded by former Reform MP Rupert Lowe.

“The narrative that Reform has peaked? No, it's troughed. It's a very different thing, it's troughed.”

Multi-million pound war chest for campaign push

Following a major summer of reorganisation at headquarters, Reform UK is deploying its multi-million pound donations to professionalise campaign infrastructure, overhaul field operations, and build dedicated production facilities for Reform TV, its online broadcast channel.

The essence

Nigel Farage says the seventy two million pound donation from crypto billionaires Christopher Harborne and Ben Delo has generated public respect rather than backlash, as Reform UK faces scrutiny over its funding and poll decline.
