New Kindles show light leaks in dark mode
Reddit users report shadows and visible LED strips around the screen edges of new Amazon Kindles, especially when using dark mode and high brightness settings.
The problem affects multiple models
The issue appears in both plastic and aluminum Kindle models in all colors. While minor glowing might result from front lighting and flush screen design, Reddit users say the defects look more serious.
Amazon confirms manufacturing issue
Good e-Reader reports Amazon is aware of the problem and confirmed a manufacturing issue may have caused defects in the current batch. Amazon declined to provide an on-the-record statement to The Verge.
