Ternus wants faster launches

John Ternus, Apple's new CEO, wants the company to launch products more often than its usual fall and spring events, according to Bloomberg reporting.
Competing in the AI era
Ternus has indicated Apple must introduce products more quickly and become more experimental to remain competitive in the artificial intelligence era, Bloomberg reports.

Products already in the pipeline
Apple is rumored to have a considerable number of products in development, including a new HomePod Mini, iPad Mini, Apple TV four K, AirPods with cameras, touchscreen MacBooks, and a special twentieth anniversary iPhone.
Cutting management layers

Ternus is considering reducing layers between engineers and senior executives. The hardware engineering team dismissed a number of engineering program managers in the past two weeks, Bloomberg says.
Recent layoffs across teams
The management cuts follow recent layoffs on Apple's Siri and Vision Pro teams reported in August. Apple also considered laying off five thousand AppleCare customer service staffers but ultimately put those plans on hold.
Shift may take time
The move toward faster launches may not happen right away given Apple's long-established development practices, but Ternus's plans signal a significant change in how the company operates.
The big picture
Apple's new CEO John Ternus wants the company to launch products more frequently and become more experimental to stay competitive in artificial intelligence, according to Bloomberg.
