Arturia launches MiniFreak 49

Arturia has released the MiniFreak 49, a new version of its MiniFreak synth. It shares the same internal sound engines as the current MiniFreak but adds professional features and interface improvements.
Forty-nine full-sized keys replace minikeys
The MiniFreak 49 has forty-nine full-sized, semi-weighted keys instead of the original MiniFreak's thirty-seven minikeys or the MicroFreak's twenty-five key touchplate. The keys feature only mono aftertouch, not polyphonic.
Pitch and mod wheels replace touchstrips
The MiniFreak 49 trades the touchstrips found on other Freak instruments for proper aluminum pitch and mod wheels. It also has a larger LCD screen and dedicated controls for its two sound engines.
New touchpad and pricing

A new XYZ touchpad replaces the mod matrix's knob-based interface and adds performance features and faster preset browsing. The MiniFreak 49 is available now with an MSRP of eight hundred forty-nine dollars.
The takeaway
Arturia released the MiniFreak 49, a professional version of its MiniFreak synth with full-sized semi-weighted keys and improved controls, priced at eight hundred forty-nine dollars.
