Claude gets access to your finances
Anthropic's chatbot Claude can now connect to your bank and card accounts through Plaid, a bank bridging platform. The connection is read-only and your passwords stay private.
What Claude can see and do
Claude can access your bank name, account names, account type, last four digits, balances, credit limits, and up to two years of transaction history. It cannot move, manage, or invest your money.
What you can ask Claude
You can ask Claude where your money went this month and get a spending breakdown by category.
Rolling out to paid users this week
Personal Finance in Claude is launching in beta this week to Claude Pro, Max, and Ultra plan subscribers in the US. OpenAI introduced a similar ChatGPT feature through Plaid in May.
Anthropic eyes bigger financial partnerships
Anthropic says Personal Finance is a first step and plans to explore how Claude can work alongside licensed professionals and regulated firms. It is seeking input from banks, wealth managers, and financial services companies.
