Discogs founder on his essentials

Kevin Lewandowski founded Discogs twenty-five years ago. It is a marketplace for buying and selling records and a comprehensive database covering albums, singles, and various pressings.
His most indispensable tool
Lewandowski says his AeroPress is his most indispensable tool. He uses it multiple times a day to make coffee.
“My AeroPress. I use it multiple times a day.”
How he stays focused
When Lewandowski needs to focus, he either clears everything off his desk or changes locations completely. He goes to a coffee shop or sits outside.
Still buying vinyl

Lewandowski was at Mint Gallery in Portland last week and picked up four records. He also recently picked up three reissues from the Moodsville slash Acoustic Sounds series.
“I still really like going into a record store and finding something to bring home.”
The game he wishes he'd made
Lewandowski wishes he had created Rez, a rhythm game that came out around two thousand. In Rez you control the music as you play, about as close to DJing as a video game can get.
“Probably a game like Rez, which came out around 2000.”
His own creative projects
Lewandowski likes to tinker. Lately he has been playing around with Home Assistant software and built his own setup to control things like the garage door and outdoor lights.
“I like to tinker. Lately I've been playing around with Home Assistant software.”
His biopic tagline
When asked what the tagline for his biopic would be, Lewandowski answered: The Secret Weapon.
“The Secret Weapon.”
The key point
Kevin Lewandowski, who founded Discogs twenty-five years ago, says his AeroPress coffee maker is his most indispensable tool and still buys vinyl records regularly.
