Vivo's foldable launches globally

Vivo's X Fold 6 is now releasing internationally after launching in China this June. The timing makes its design feel oddly old-fashioned compared to recent competitors.

“The X Fold 6 looks like foldables did three months ago.”

Tall and square, like older foldables

The X Fold 6 has a six point five one inch cover display in standard twenty to nine aspect ratio, opening to an almost square eight point zero two inch panel. It resembles foldables before Apple and Samsung shifted to shorter, wider designs.

Design compromises on the crease

The crease is quite visible, putting it behind rivals. The IP fifty nine rating is good but not great, meaning the phone's durability sits in the middle of the foldable market.

Cameras are the standout feature

The X Fold 6 has a one slash one point four inch type, two hundred megapixel main camera sensor, one of the biggest on any foldable phone. It pairs with fifty megapixel telephoto and ultrawide cameras that also look decent.

Strong battery and processor inside

The phone has a six thousand nine hundred milliamp hour battery and runs a custom Super Edition of the MediaTek Dimensity nine thousand five hundred processor, giving it solid performance for a foldable.

Global pricing and availability unclear

Vivo has not announced the price or specific markets for the X Fold 6 ahead of its global release. The reviewer plans to test the camera properly once more details become available.
