A rare Ichimoku signal lines up on gold

A trader flags September 29 as the date gold's time cycles and cloud structure could break the bulls.

In brief

A trader flags September 29 as the date gold's time cycles and cloud structure could break the bulls. Time analysis says the bulls have until Kihon-42 to make a higher high, and the odds fall off a cliff after Kihon-33. Originally reported by TradingView.

Circle the 29th

The call centers on gold around September 29. Blue lines on the chart mark Kihon-suchi, the basic time numbers Ichimoku traders watch for turns.

“Keep your eye on gold around the 29th.”

The bulls are on a clock

The stretch up to Kihon-42 is a time lease for buyers. They need a higher high inside it to prove a real trend, and if it doesn't come by Kihon-33 the odds drop hard.

“The period up to Kihon-42 is a time lease for the bulls.”

Kakugi, from a Japanese text

The method comes from Hidenobu Sasaki's Ichimoku Kinko Studies, which the author translated. Kakugi takes a prior lease's span, the Kihon-kei, and shifts it onto the new one.

When a Hengi meets a Kihon

When a Hengi meets a Kihon

Kihon intervals flag a Henka-bi, a day of change. Kakugi produces a Hengi, a heavier turning point. A Hengi landing on a Kihon interval is a Jūgi, and those are rare.

“A Jūgi is an extremely rare confluence.”

No cloud, no floor

A Kumo twist arrives just before the 29th, so there is almost no cloud left to catch a falling price. Stack that on weak buyers and the downside opens up.

“There is basically no cloud to offer support should gold go down.”

How to play it, or not

A drop would set up shorts in gold ETFs and miners. It could also amount to nothing, which is why the author leans on preparation rather than prediction.

“In matters of analysis, fortune favors the prepared mind.”

What it means

Time analysis says the bulls have until Kihon-42 to make a higher high, and the odds fall off a cliff after Kihon-33.
