Clocked at 119 mph

A North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper stopped a driver travelling 119 mph on Interstate 29. The agency shared the stop in a Facebook post.
South of Grand Forks
The stop happened on Sept. 12 near mile marker 129, on the stretch of I-29 south of Grand Forks.
Arrested, not just ticketed
The driver was arrested on a Class B misdemeanour charge of reckless driving, a step beyond a routine speeding stop.
A paraphernalia citation too

The trooper also cited the driver with an infraction for possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
“Trooper also cited driver for marijuana paraphernalia”
$215 and 15 points
The speeding citation alone came to $215 and carried 15 points against the driver's licence.
What tips it into reckless
The Highway Patrol says traffic volume, road conditions and passengers in the vehicle can decide whether a stop ends in a ticket or handcuffs.
“can be the difference between a speeding ticket and an arrest for reckless driving”
The bottom line
Speed alone gets you a ticket. Speed plus traffic, road conditions or passengers in the car can get you arrested.
