Photographer Mikel Conrad

Photographer Mikel Conrad creates portraits of 250 veterans for the U.S. 250th birthday to honor service and sacrifice.

Korean War Veteran Ron Camillo

Ron Camillo served in the 1st Marine Division and 5th Marines during the Korean War from 1950-51.

“Active duty 1950-51. I can remember like yesterday, korea. The problem is i saw things over there i can’t talk about”

Gerontologist Sam Cradduck

Gerontologist Sam Cradduck says these portraits honor veterans by showing they are seen and their service matters.

“You know, so many of our veterans come back feeling unseen. And this gives them that, i see you and i hear you and i’m honoring you, and what you did mattered.”
