A country voice goes quiet

Country singer Brian Duckworth died Monday at his home in Clarksburg, West Virginia. He was 56. No cause of death was disclosed.

They called him Nashville

The nickname stuck with him for years, a nod to the music that ran through his life even though his days were spent far from Music Row.

A band of siblings

Duckworth performed in Taylor Made alongside his sister Wendy Williams and brother Greg Duckworth. Their best known song is "Things you don't grow out of."

“He loved to sing and proudly performed with his family band, Taylor Made.”

Independent artist of the year

MusicRow named Taylor Made its Independent Artist of the Year in 2012. The band opened for Miranda Lambert, Charlie Daniels and Dierks Bentley.

The Truck Boss

Off stage he drove a dump truck for Wolfe's Excavating, where coworkers called him the Truck Boss. He loved that the job kept him outdoors.

“Whether working or relaxing, Brian was happiest surrounded by nature.”

Who he leaves behind

Duckworth is survived by Tina Scheuvront Duckworth, his wife of 15 years, along with six children and four grandchildren.

“Brian's love of family, music, and the outdoors will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.”

The one thing
