William Frattalone could avoid a felony conviction if a judge approves the Lake Minnetonka plea deal.
In brief
William Frattalone could avoid a felony conviction if a judge approves the Lake Minnetonka plea deal. The plea deal is only proposed for now, and Frattalone’s felony conviction can be avoided only if the court approves it and he stays out of trouble for a year. Originally reported by Valleynewslive.
A plea is proposed
Former NDSU football player William Frattalone has agreed to a proposed deal in Hennepin County tied to a Lake Minnetonka theft case.
Felony could be avoided

The deal would have Frattalone plead guilty to felony receiving stolen property, while two theft counts would be dismissed. A one-year stay could keep a conviction off his record.
“the agreement is not yet final and still needs the court’s approval”
The missing bag
The case began July 4, 2025, after a boater reported a Louis Vuitton duffle missing near Maynard’s Restaurant in Excelsior.
High-value items inside
Court documents say the bag held a passport, AirPods, flash drives, limited-edition clothing, $5,000 to $10,000 in cash and a Rolex valued at $227,999.
Staff stopped him
Restaurant workers stopped Frattalone as he tried to carry the large bag through the restaurant. He told them he needed to take it to his car.
Search found clothing
Investigators tracked the AirPods to an Excelsior residence. A search of Frattalone’s home found the bag and most clothing, but the Rolex was not recovered.

The takeaway
The plea deal is only proposed for now, and Frattalone’s felony conviction can be avoided only if the court approves it and he stays out of trouble for a year.
