A man visiting a Moorhead residence saw a green laser on his head, then spotted Troy Sorenson pointing a shotgun at him around 2:44 a.m. Monday.
Victim ran inside for safety
The victim fled into the house after Sorenson aimed the weapon at him. He later saw Sorenson still pointing the laser-equipped shotgun toward the residence.
Suspect claimed robbery fears
Sorenson told police he thought people were trying to rob the residence. He denied pointing the gun at anyone, saying he only wanted to remove the laser sight.
Three felony charges filed
The 41-year-old Gardner, North Dakota man faces illegal firearm possession, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, and switchblade possession charges.
Prior drug convictions on record
Sorenson has previous convictions for possession with intent to deliver controlled substances from 2004, plus two more for possessing methamphetamine and ecstasy.
