A fishing trip at night
Two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old took an aluminum boat out on a pond off East Burton Street in Sulphur, Louisiana, on Friday night.
The boat went over
The boat flipped, and the three of them could not right it again. They were left in the water with no way back into the hull.
“The boat ended up flipping over, and the teens could not get it back upright.”
One swam for help
One of the teens made it to land and called for help. A second also reached the bank.

The third never made it
Authorities pulled the body of the third teen, who was 16, from the pond. They were found dead.
They were not supposed to be there
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office said the group had no permission to be on the private property, and no permission to use the boat.
