She watched him suffer
Deputies said Rog watched her husband groaning in pain, never called for help, and went to bed while he remained unattended and unresponsive in the bathroom.
Speech therapist found him
A speech therapist arrived for an in-home visit the next morning around 10 a.m. and found the husband unresponsive, calling an ambulance immediately.
Multiple organ failures diagnosed
At the hospital, he was diagnosed with heart failure, respiratory failure, pulmonary embolism, sepsis, and other critical conditions from the prolonged toilet exposure.
Injuries were significant factor in death
The victim died on August 31. Deputies determined his condition and injuries from being left on the toilet were significant contributing factors to his death.
