Two pieces of news

"The Julia Set" premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, and Owen Gleiberman calls it nothing short of terrific. Two things about it are worth reporting.

“the nothing-short-of-terrific new movie that premiered tonight at the Toronto Film Festival”

Her first film since the breakout

This is Chase Infiniti's first movie since she played the Leonardo DiCaprio character's daughter in "One Battle After Another."

The mettle is confirmed

News one: she is a movie star. Gleiberman singles out a lyrical, wised-up innocence that she carries as an actor.

Julia Fischer, freshman prodigy

Infiniti plays a math prodigy in her first year of college, brilliant at the work and green at everything else.

The mistake she chooses

Julia falls into a relationship with her teaching assistant. The film frames it as a mistake, but one she walks into with big dark wide open eyes.

The dream preppie TA

Christopher Briney, of "The Summer I Turned Pretty" and the "Mean Girls" musical, plays the ridiculously good-looking TA on the other side of the affair.
