Retired colonel hired by Pentagon
Kurt Schlichter, a retired Army colonel with over six hundred twenty thousand followers on X, was given a government email address and worked for the Pentagon's undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness.
Task force rooting out woke ideology
Schlichter confirmed he was a civilian government employee working as part of a task force rooting out so-called woke ideologies at the military's war colleges, according to reporting from The Washington Post.
Demanded authoritarian crackdown on liberals

In an August two thousand twenty-one thread on X, Schlichter wrote: We must, by any means necessary, force them to be like us. No quarter. No compromise. He advocated banning masks, unions, critical race theory and leftist media.
“We must, by any means necessary, force them to be like us. No quarter. No compromise.”
Proposed voting restrictions based on family status
Schlichter suggested people without children, military service or property should not vote. He wrote: Penalize barren, non-familial lifestyles through taxes and disqualification from political participation. Posts in the thread were shared ten thousand times combined.
“Penalize barren, non-familial lifestyles through taxes and disqualification from political participation.”
Praised murderous dictators repeatedly
Schlichter expressed appreciation for Chile's Augusto Pinochet and Spain's Francisco Franco. In April two thousand twenty-four he wrote Pinochet was too soft. In December two thousand twenty-five he called Franco a Spanish patriot.
“Pinochet was too soft.”
Called liberal women a pestilence

In a July two thousand twenty-six Townhall article, Schlichter wrote that liberal women could end Western civilization. He called them self-righteous crones, a pestilence and a plague whose antics would inevitably lead to the fall of civilization.
“These self-righteous crones are a pestilence, a plague upon Western society.”
