One brand after 100 tests

WIRED's pet tech writer has tested over 100 feeders, fountains and cameras. Petlibro is the one they keep buying for themselves and recommending to family.

“The one brand I keep buying for myself, and recommending to friends and family with pets, is Petlibro.”

Why it beats rivals

Most pet gadgets ship with confusing instructions and buggy, crowded apps. Petlibro's app handles real-time updates, scheduled feedings, activity logs and reminders without the mess.

Not cheap, still worth it

Petlibro sits above the budget shelf on price. The reviewer calls it good value anyway, based on how well designed and reliable the hardware has been.

Cats and stagnant water

Cats often drink too little, which can lead to UTIs and blockages that turn lethal in males. In the wild, still water carries bacteria, so cats instinctively prefer water that moves.

Pet hydration month

Petlibro's September event cuts over 30 percent off health products, including bundles, automatic litter boxes and food and water gear. Many items are FSA and HSA eligible.

Bundles beat single buys

The RFID Smart Dining Bundle is $10 off and pairs two RFID feeders with an RFID fountain, so you can track each pet separately and stop the greedy one hogging kibble.

The reviewer's two favorites

The Polar Wet Food Feeder is basically a mini fridge for canned food, and the Granary Camera Feeder is the top feeder pick with a sharp video feed. Both are $10 off as a bundle.

Refer a friend, both save

Give a friend 15 percent off and you get 30 percent off once they buy. Send three friends and Petlibro hands you a $50 gift card.

Scout camera, 20% off

The Scout does 1080p HD, color night vision and two-way audio, and its AI learns which pet is which, sorting clips by pet and activity. Code PETCAM takes 20 percent off.

Subscribe to the filters

A fountain needs weekly cleaning and a new filter roughly every three weeks. A filter subscription keeps you on schedule and knocks 15 percent off the price.
