The Bambu Lab P2S makes 3D printing practical for everyone

A new 3D printer that's so easy to use and reliable it could actually pay for itself in household convenience.

In brief

A new 3D printer that's so easy to use and reliable it could actually pay for itself in household convenience. The Bambu Lab P2S is the easiest consumer 3D printer to operate, making it practical for anyone to print useful household items, custom organizers, and replacement parts on demand. A 3D printer for regular people

The Bambu Lab P2S Combo costs $769 and prints everything from kitchen organizers to shovels to earrings with store-quality results. It's like having an Amazon fulfillment center in your home.

“Owning a 3D printer is like having an Amazon fulfillment center right in your house.”

Easier than any competitor

The P2S works seamlessly out of the box with intuitive software and design. Bambu Lab is called the Apple of 3D printing because even complete beginners can operate it without complicated steps or troubleshooting.

The P2S adds a larger display than its predecessor, the P1S, letting you control functions and troubleshoot directly on the machine without a computer.

Tool-free nozzle swapping

The P1S required unscrewing and disassembling to swap nozzles. The P2S has a magnetic nozzle head that pops off instantly, making it much faster to switch between different printing materials.

Better temperature control

The enclosed chamber with a redesigned airflow system keeps high-temperature plastics like ASA and ABS from warping. It pulls cooler air for easy-melt PLA or retains heat for tougher materials.

Fumes need ventilation

Fumes need ventilation

High-temperature filaments like ASA produce overwhelming fumes that leak around the door despite the carbon filter. Keep the printer in a closable room and consider the optional 3D-printable exhaust kit.

Needs a rock-solid surface

The nozzle moves at 600 millimeters per second, causing vigorous shaking. A flimsy table will loosen over time and trigger axis errors. Place it on the ground or a very firm surface.

Multicolor printing made simple

The Automatic Material System add-on ($299) holds four filament spools that auto-feed to your project. Without it, multicolor prints require stopping and manually swapping spools.

Filament drying for humid climates

The AMS also dries filament to remove moisture that creates steam and ruins prints. Essential if you live in a humid region, but less critical in dry climates.

Filament waste disposal is messy

The automatic nozzle cleaning function ejects filament blobs out the back, leaving detritus on the floor. Most users print a waste collection basket as their first project.

Improved camera and AI detection

The upgraded 1080p 30-frames-per-second camera with better AI failure detection lets you monitor prints remotely via the Bambu Handy app, which saves time-lapse videos automatically.

Worth the investment

At $769 (or $569 without the AMS), the P2S pays for itself if you regularly need custom organizers, replacement parts, or brackets. It's overkill only if you print occasionally.

Rating: 9 out of 10

The P2S earns a strong grade for ease of use, consistent quality, and enclosed temperature control. Its only real weakness is the airflow system's room for improvement.

The essence

The Bambu Lab P2S is the easiest consumer 3D printer to operate, making it practical for anyone to print useful household items, custom organizers, and replacement parts on demand.
