## The passenger was a congressman
Rep. Tom Tiffany, a Republican who represents Wisconsin in the House, was traveling in the plane when it came down.
## It happened Saturday night
The landing came on a Saturday night, which means the pilot was putting the plane on water in the dark.
## Two people, both hurt
Tiffany and the pilot were the ones injured. Both sets of injuries were described as minor.
## Treated and released
Tiffany went to a Wisconsin hospital and was out the same stretch of reporting, not admitted for a long stay.

## Home-state water
Lake Wausau sits in the state Tiffany represents, so this was an emergency in his own backyard rather than somewhere far from his district.
## He spoke out after
ABC followed with a separate report of the lawmaker talking publicly about the landing, so he was well enough to give his own account quickly.

## What is still unknown
This report does not say what went wrong, who the pilot was, or what happened to the aircraft. The cause is an open question.
## Key takeaway

Two people came out of a nighttime water landing with only minor injuries, which is close to the best outcome this kind of emergency allows.
