## A 'Severance' name signs on
Nicholas Weinstock, executive producer of Apple TV+'s 'Severance,' has joined the Indian fantasy-horror feature 'Tongue.'
## The film is called 'Tongue'
It is a fantasy-horror feature written and directed by Krishnarjun Bhattacharya, blending genre scares with something stranger.
## Sayani Gupta leads it
Gupta stars in the film and is not just acting. She carries the project on screen while holding a stake in how it gets made.
## She produces it too
Gupta serves as the film's Indian producer, working alongside Weinstock's banner Invention Studios and Divya D'Souza.
## A lab spot opened doors
'Tongue' earned a place in the South Asian Canadian Film Federation's Indo-Canadian Producers' Lab, a pipeline built for exactly this kind of cross-border pairing.
## Toronto puts it on stage
The Toronto Film Festival will showcase the film through its Indo-Canadian co-production market, where financing and partners get locked in.
## Key takeaway

'Tongue' has a 'Severance' producer, a lead actor doubling as producer, and a TIFF co-production slot, all before it has shot a frame of buzz.
