## A 2-year-old is dead
South Carolina authorities say Haisha Dominguez Marin, 2, died Wednesday night in a hit-and-run crash in North Charleston.
## Found at the intersection
North Charleston police said officers found the toddler dead near Rivers Avenue and Eagle Drive.
## The truck led them home
Investigators traced the crash to a 2020 Toyota Tacoma, then went to the address the truck was registered to and found the driver.
## She heard a bang
Anayely Lovato Guerrero, 27, told officers she had left Goodwill and driven past the area. She heard a noise, saw nothing, and kept going.

> She said she heard a bang but did not notice anything, so she continued driving.
## Charges for the driver
Guerrero was arrested on charges that include reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
## The guardian arrested too
Police said evidence disputed the account of how the child was being supervised. Glaimar Alejandra Ramirez Dominguez, 21, faces charges including unlawful conduct toward a child.

> The circumstances surrounding the care and supervision of the juvenile were disputed by the evidence available to detectives.
## Key takeaway

A hit-and-run investigation can widen fast: police charged both the driver who left and the guardian who was supposed to be watching.
