## Belew's go-to effect gets official
Adrian Belew has used Electro-Harmonix flanger pedals throughout his career with King Crimson, Talking Heads, and more. Now the company is releasing a signature model.
## All-analog with classic modes
The Echoflanger is a multi-mode modulator with Filter Matrix, Flange, Chorus, and Slap Back from the original. New combination modes let you blend effects together.
## Expanded controls for sonic design
Belew requested new controls including Volume, Speed, Range, Tune, and Feedback. A Blend switch adds or removes dry signal for traditional or intense vibrato sounds.
## The pedal behind a sampling legend
Belew got his first Echo Flanger in 1980 for Tom Tom Club. He used it to create a steel drum guitar sound on Genius of Love, which became the most sampled song of all time.

> I got my first Echo Flanger in 1980, and I had it for the [Talking Heads offshoot band] Tom Tom Club
## Making pedals do weird things
Belew praises Electro-Harmonix for letting him push effects beyond their intended use, creating the unusual sounds he's known for in King Crimson and beyond.

> Electro-Harmonix is the one company you could make do things they're not supposed to do
## Limited edition at $239
The Echoflanger features stereo outputs, true bypass with mechanical relays, and ships with a 9V power supply. It's available now as a limited-edition release.
## Key takeaway

The EHX Adrian Belew Echoflanger combines classic analog modulation modes with new blends and expanded controls for $239.
