## Privacy concerns for dating apps
If you need discretion in your dating search, privacy and anonymity are critical factors for choosing a service.
## AdultFriendFinder and Pure services
These two platforms, one a website and the other an app, prioritize user anonymity while eliminating bots and spammers.
## Signup requirements
Both services allow faster sign-ins using Google, Facebook, or Apple accounts, but require date of birth, location, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
## Location tracking differences
Pure can track your real-time location via phone geolocation, while AdultFriendFinder does not have this feature.
## Photo sharing policies
Both require profile photos but allow neck-down shots or hats/sunglasses to hide faces, with AFF permitting nudity and Pure banning suggested nudity.
## Messaging security
Pure automatically deletes chats within 24 hours unless both users disable the timer, while AdultFriendFinder stores chat history permanently.
## Payment methods
AdultFriendFinder supports gift cards and SMS billing for UK users, while Pure requires Google or Apple account payments.
## Privacy winners
Pure wins on messaging security, AdultFriendFinder wins on payment privacy, but both services tie in overall privacy features.
## Key takeaway

AdultFriendFinder and Pure both allow anonymity but differ in privacy features like photo sharing and messaging security.
