## Amelia Earhart's disappearance
Amelia Earhart and her plane vanished over the central Pacific Ocean on July 2, 1937.
## Recent search efforts
Purdue University researchers arrived on Nikumaroro Island to investigate the Taraia Object.
## AI analysis of historical data
Generative AI models like ChatGPT analyzed historical theories to place a digital pin for Earhart's plane.
## AI points to known anomaly
AI identified the same underwater shape as human scientists spotted on satellite imagery years earlier.
## Historical context of searches
Previous expeditions including the 1989 TIGHAR search returned empty-handed with no bones found.
## AI's limitations
AI synthesized decades of human speculation but did not analyze the ocean floor directly.
## What happens next
Researchers will investigate the AI-suggested location to determine Earhart's final resting place.
## Key takeaway

Generative AI models identified Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Electra 10-E plane location matching satellite anomalies.
