## The PM calls it nastiness
Anthony Albanese hit back at Pauline Hanson over resurfaced comments attacking his mother for living in public housing for decades. He said he was stunned.

> I tell you what's weakness: nastiness and spitefulness
## Out of her league
Albanese said his mother, a self-described battler who died in 2002, was beyond criticism from the One Nation leader.

> But my mother was way out of Pauline Hanson's league. Way out.
## What Hanson actually said
On Karl Stefanovic's podcast in February, Hanson said a 65-year tenancy in a housing commission home was not on, and called Albanese pathetic for citing his upbringing.

> It should be limited time, you have been given a hand up, move it on to the next ones coming through.
## Labor demands an apology
Trade minister Don Farrell called the comments appalling and un-Australian. Hanson has been approached for comment and has not responded.

> There's a certain bitterness in One Nation's approach to the world that I find quite un-Australian
## Hastie won't back down
Liberal MP Andrew Hastie again called Hanson a lying coward over an animated cartoon branding him a traitor, which she refuses to take down.

> She started a fight, and I intend to win it.
## Buyers' remorse claim
Hastie said the party revolves entirely around Hanson, and guessed Barnaby Joyce and David Farley regret joining. He said he feels sorry for Joyce.

> He left a party that made him deputy prime minister twice, to jump in with this rabble
## Joyce says no regrets
Joyce told Guardian Australia the assumption was not correct, saying he joined One Nation because the political status quo had gone lazy and weak.

> My fear is that the Coalition tread water rather than find land
## The seat behind the feud
One Nation has spent months targeting Hastie's WA seat of Canning. It won the overlapping state seat of Secret Harbour at a byelection last month.
## Key takeaway

Hanson's attack on Albanese's late mother handed him a personal fight he was happy to have, while Hastie turned his own feud into a campaign against One Nation's discipline.
