## Alberta referendum results
Alberta voters rejected separatism with three-quarters choosing Remain and supporting eight of premier smith's nine questions on immigration and constitutional reform.
## Rick Bell's analysis
Rick Bell argues separatist movement overestimated strength and fell short of expectations, giving smith a stronger hand against separatist elements within her party.
## Federal government caution
Bell warns federal government shouldn't take result as endorsement of canada's status quo and more work needed to build stronger alberta-ottawa relationship.
## Key takeaway

Alberta voters rejected separatism in a decisive referendum, strengthening Danielle Smith's leadership but requiring continued work with Ottawa.
