## Megos sends Australia's hardest route
German climber Alex Megos made the first ascent of Slice of Heaven at Cheesedale near Nowra, New South Wales. The route grades 5.15b, making it Australia's first climb at that difficulty level.

> Australia's first 37 and one of the best routes I've ever done.
## Megos also repeats recent 5.15a
During the same trip, Megos repeated Rapture of the Deep 5.15a, which was first climbed by Ryan Sklenica this summer. Both routes are at the same Cheesedale crag.
## Megos has a history in Australia
In 2013, Megos established Australia's first-ever 5.14d, Retired Extremely Dangerous, in the Blue Mountains. On this recent trip, he also made the first ascent of Nothing But Sunshine 5.14c.
## World-class climber and route setter
Megos is one of the world's best sport climbers. He has established two 5.15cs: Bibliographie in Céüse, France and Perfecto Mundo in Margalef, Spain.
## Recent achievements across disciplines
Earlier this year, Megos onsighted 5.14c at Le Joncas in France and redpointed Le Bruit de l'Acid 5.15b in just four sessions. He's also been bouldering, with notable first ascents including Norwegian Sky V14 and Schattenspiel V14.
## Fight Club remains unrepeated
One of Megos's most famous first ascents is Fight Club 5.15b in the Canadian Rockies, climbed in 2016. Despite attempts by other elite climbers like Adam Ondra, Fight Club remains unrepeated.
## Key takeaway

Alex Megos completed the first ascent of Slice of Heaven (5.15b), making it Australia's hardest sport climb to date.
