## AI is everywhere in daily life
Americans increasingly use AI for recipes, homework, work research and presentations. But daily use does not mean comfort with the technology.
## Most daily users are deeply worried
About sixty-eight percent of Americans who use AI daily are worried about it, according to a new Gallup survey commissioned by Microsoft.
## The survey spans thirty-seven countries
Gallup polled about one thousand people in each country between April and July. The project will eventually span one hundred forty countries.
## America leads the world in AI anxiety
Seventy-four percent of Americans reported worry about AI, and only thirty-six percent expect it to mostly help the country. Western nations show similar concern.
## Asia shows far more optimism
In Singapore, forty-six percent use AI daily and eighty percent expect it to improve their lives. China and Israel show similar optimism about AI's benefits.
## Trust in AI accuracy remains low
Only forty-five percent of American daily users trust AI results. Across all countries surveyed, just thirty-six percent trust AI accuracy a lot.
## Curiosity outweighs worry globally
In thirty-four of thirty-seven countries, people mostly felt curious about AI. Only thirty-two percent overall said they felt worried about it.
## Attitudes toward AI are contradictory
Gallup senior scientist Pablo Diego-Rosell said people can be curious, expect benefits, use AI frequently and still worry about it simultaneously.

> People can be curious about AI, expect it to be beneficial and use it frequently while still being worried about it.
## Worry may drive demand for regulation
People relying on AI daily may support tougher rules or resist its use in hiring, healthcare, education or government despite their daily dependence.
## Exposure alone won't ease concerns
Greater use of AI will not resolve unease about the technology. AI will likely keep spreading even as disputes rage over where it belongs.
## Key takeaway

Most Americans who use AI daily remain anxious about it, complicating the idea that adoption signals public comfort with the technology.
