## Adobe’s Creative Cloud Struggles
Adobe ignored Mac design conventions, raised prices, and focused on high-paying customers while power users moved to Linux.
## ArtCraft’s Open-Source Solution
ArtCraft rebuilt Creative Cloud apps using Rust programming language for faster, smaller file sizes that work on any platform.
## Early User Experience
ArtCraft apps load quickly but have rough color pickers and font detection issues that require updates.
## Power Users’ Benefits
Power users can access old files without Creative Cloud subscriptions and build zines with these tools.
## Vibe Coding’s Ethical Angle
ArtCraft addresses Adobe’s ethical issues by offering a Robin Hood-like alternative to expensive Creative Cloud subscriptions.
## Craft vs. Vibe Coding
The name 'craft' misrepresents the project as expert-built code when it’s actually a vibe-coded solution for accessibility.
## Security and Future Impact
Rust programming improves stability but security concerns remain; AI coding techniques may reshape open source and Adobe’s approach.
## Legal and Historical Context
ArtCraft’s legal status is unclear, but its spirit echoes Napster’s impact on tech despite past legal issues.
## What Happens Next
Other projects will likely emerge to fill ArtCraft’s niche, similar to how Napster inspired new services.
## Key takeaway

ArtCraft’s open-source vibe-coded apps offer a cheaper, more flexible alternative to Adobe Creative Cloud for power users.
