## Arteta extends Arsenal contract
Mikel Arteta has agreed a long-term contract extension with Arsenal that will keep him at the club until at least 2030, with a significant pay rise included.
## Current deal expires this season
Arteta's three-year contract signed in September 2024 expires at the end of this season. Negotiations began in May after Arsenal won the Premier League title.
## Salary increase to top earners
Arteta's current deal is worth about 10 million pounds a season plus 5 million pounds bonus for Champions League qualification. The new deal will make him one of football's best-paid managers.
## Arsenal's longest-serving manager
At 44, Arteta is now the Premier League's longest-serving manager after Pep Guardiola departed Manchester City. He took over Arsenal in December 2019 from Unai Emery.
## Champions League final loss to PSG
Last season Arteta led Arsenal to the Champions League final in Budapest, where they lost to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties. They also won the Premier League title, their first since 2004.
## Arsenal also extending Rice's contract
Arsenal are keen to extend England midfielder Declan Rice's contract, which has two years remaining. The club wants to secure their most important players on long-term deals.
## Key takeaway

Arteta's new deal recognizes his success in winning Arsenal's first Premier League title in 22 years and cements his status as one of football's best-paid managers.
