## New pandas arrive
Two giant pandas from China arrived at Zoo Atlanta on Sunday, beginning a new chapter for the zoo’s decades-long panda program just days after Chinese President Xi Jinping visited.
## Panda partnership
Zoo Atlanta and the China Wildlife Conservation Association signed a 10-year agreement for pandas, continuing a partnership that dates back to the 1990s.
## Panda names
Ping Ping, a male panda born in March, and Fu Shuang, a female panda born in October, have names with cultural significance.
## Habitat change
The pandas moved into a habitat that was empty for two years after four pandas returned to China.
## Zoo statement
Zoo Atlanta President and CEO Raymond B. King said the partnership helps conserve giant pandas, the most important benefit of guarding this species.
## Public access
The pandas will greet visitors for the first time after a quarantine and acclimation period following their September arrival.
## Key takeaway

Atlanta Zoo now has public access to two giant pandas, making it one of three U.S. zoos with pandas.
