## A death before dawn
Baltimore officers and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner were called to MedStar Harbor Hospital just after 1 a.m. Wednesday for a report of an infant's death.

## Both parents arrested
Detectives took Katerin Monzon-Alvarado and Oscar Pineda, both 21, into custody soon after and interviewed them.
## Five charges each
They were charged with first- and second-degree child abuse, first- and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment. Both are held at Central Booking.
## The autopsy decides what's next
Police said homicide charges may be added, depending on the autopsy result. It was not immediately clear whether either parent had a lawyer.

Both parents face first- and second-degree child abuse charges, and homicide charges may follow once the autopsy is complete.
