## Kompany Discharged
Bayern Munich director of sport Max Eberl confirmed manager Vincent Kompany has been discharged from hospital after his training-ground collapse was put down to a case of meningism.
## Collapse Details
Kompany collapsed in training last week after being rushed to hospital with recovery expected to take weeks as medical professionals initially struggled to identify the reason.
## Meningeal Irritation
Meningeal irritation occurs when the brain and spinal cord protective layers become inflamed, blocking fluids and increasing pressure in the brain.
## Diagnosis Clarified
Medical professionals identified meningeal irritation as the cause of Kompany’s collapse on Friday, not meningitis.
## Recovery Plan
Kompany will complete rehab at home before returning to the dugout, with no formal timeline for his return to work.
## Team Leadership
Assistant manager Aaron Danks will lead Bayern until Kompany returns, with midfielder Tom Bischof noting Danks motivates the team well.
## Upcoming Fixtures
Bayern host Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker on Saturday before a Champions League trip to Atlético Madrid on Nov. 3.
