## McConnell returns after three months away
Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky returned to the Senate floor last week in a wheelchair after being hospitalized in June. He had not disclosed the reason for his absence.
## McConnell suffered a fall, office reveals
McConnell's office later revealed he had suffered a fall on June fourteenth that left him hospitalized. He cast his first vote since June eleventh upon his return.
## Beshear: McConnell unfit for office
On ABC's The View on Monday, Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky said he still has concerns about McConnell's ability to carry out his duties. Anyone watching the video has concerns, Beshear said.

> I still have concerns and I think anybody who actually watches the video has concerns, both for him and for the position.
## Beshear: McConnell didn't answer to voters
Beshear said McConnell was absent for three months without telling the people of Kentucky, his employers. The Senate is broken because senators don't think they work for anybody, Beshear said.

> Mitch McConnell was gone for three months, three months away from work, and wouldn't tell his boss, which are the people of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
## Beshear called for McConnell's resignation
In July, Beshear sent McConnell a letter demanding he either prove he could still serve or resign. McConnell's office did not reply to the letter.
## Beshear pushes term limits for Congress
Beshear used the McConnell situation to call for term limits for members of Congress and the Supreme Court. Senators deserve to actually do their jobs, he said.

> None of us wish him ill will, but we all deserve senators that can actually do their job. And I think it's fair to say we can now all agree it's time for term limits for Congress.
## Beshear defends record as moderate Democrat
Asked if being moderate would hurt him in a presidential run, Beshear pointed to vetoing anti-LGBTQ bills, protecting abortion access, raising wages and cutting drug deaths.
## Beshear: I won't change to win votes
Beshear said he would not change who he is to appeal to voters. He cares more about the country's direction than any future title for himself.

> I am who I am, and I'm not going to change to try to get someone's vote that is looking for something else.
## Key takeaway

Gov. Andy Beshear said Sen. Mitch McConnell's hospitalization and three-month absence raise questions about his ability to serve, and called for congressional term limits.
