## NFL Formation
The NFL officially formed in September 1920 and underwent several significant changes over the following decades.
## 1950s: Green Bay Packers
The Packers are known for fiercely protecting their uniform quality at all costs. Very little has changed since the 1950s.
## 1950s Runner-Up: Los Angeles Rams
The Rams' blue and gold color scheme and horned helmet decal remain timeless, inspiring their 2026 rebrand.
## 1960s: Baltimore Colts
The Baltimore Colts kept their conservative aesthetic throughout the 1960s despite heartbreak in Super Bowl III.
## 1960s Runner-Up: Denver Broncos
The Broncos rebranded with blue and orange in the 1960s, keeping the color scheme mostly the same ever since.
## 1970s: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers debuted loud creamsicle and red uniforms in 1976, phased out by 1997 but recently embraced by fans.
## 1970s Runner-Up: Buffalo Bills
The Bills replaced the standing red bison with a charging blue logo in 1974, keeping it ever since.
## 1980s: Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals debuted black tiger stripes in 1981, winning the 1981 AFC Championship game but losing in Super Bowl XVI.
## 1980s Runner-Up: Buffalo Bills
The Bills changed their helmet from white to red in the 1980s to distinguish wide receivers from defenders.
## 1990s: Houston Oilers
The Houston Oilers made minor changes to perfect the greatest uniform in NFL history before relocating to Nashville.
## 1990s Runner-Up: Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys' 'Double Star' jerseys of the mid-1990s are a favorite, but they have a strong case for best uniform of any decade.
## 2000s: New England Patriots
The Patriots kicked off the new millennium with a complete uniform rebrand after Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002.
## 2000s Runner-Up: Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins introduced alternate orange jerseys in 2003 but haven't worn them since November 2010.
## 2010s: Oakland Raiders
The Oakland Raiders' black and silver uniforms are timeless, looking better inside the Oakland Coliseum.
## 2010s Runner-Up: Seattle Seahawks
Most fans prefer the Seahawks' royal blue and silver look from the 1990s, but their 2010s uniforms improved under Nike.
## 2020s: Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers' 2020 rebrand offers the best uniform upgrade of this decade with powder blue and gold combinations.
## 2020s Runner-Up: Tennessee Titans
The Titans fully embraced their Houston DNA with a 2026 rebrand, the biggest improvement in their uniform history.
## Key takeaway

The Green Bay Packers' 1950s uniforms remain iconic, while the Los Angeles Chargers' 2020s rebrand offers the best modern update.
