## Banned from the pod
Bill Simmons says ESPN's Peter Schrager is barred from his show after Schrager skipped an invite and appeared on Barstool's "Pardon My Take" instead.

> He's on my s, t list now.
## The parlay joke
Simmons framed it as a bet on Friday's episode, pairing the Niners +3.5 against the Rams with Schrager ducking his show for a rival one.

> I parlayed the Niners +3.5 with Schrager not coming on the podcast this week but going on a different one.
## Not a wrestling angle
When co-host Joe House joked about how Schrager could patch things up, Simmons kept his tone flat. The vibe read as real friction, not a staged bit.

> He shouldn't text us for awhile, I'll just say that.
## Withholding the promo
Schrager had something new to sell, likely his show "Big Day with Peter Schrager," which debuted Thursday. Simmons refused to plug it on air.

> He had a new thing to promote, I'm not even going to promote it now.
## A fight over Week 1 guests
Simmons competes with "Pardon My Take" for listeners, and Schrager's NFL sourcing makes him a prize booking in the opening week of the season.
## Probably temporary
Schrager was a Simmons regular, even after leaving NFL Network for ESPN, and stayed quiet on social media. Simmons also had a bad week watching the Patriots blow a 10-point lead.
## Key takeaway

In the podcast wars, which show you book first is a business decision, and hosts keep score.
