## FAA approves Boeing's largest Max
The Federal Aviation Administration certified the Boeing seven thirty seven Max ten on Tuesday after years of delays. It is the largest model in Boeing's best selling family of jets.
## Six years behind schedule
The plane was set to start flying in twenty twenty but faced increased scrutiny following two Max crashes in twenty eighteen and twenty nineteen. Engineering changes were also required, including to an anti icing system.
## Major airlines waiting to fly it
Max ten customers include Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines. Boeing said the Max ten makes up about thirty percent of its Max backlog.
## U.S. certification too slow, Duffy says
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy told CNBC that it takes Boeing less than half the time to certify an aircraft in Europe compared to the U.S. He warned China is playing to take over in aviation.

> We have to certify aircraft more quickly if we're going to compete as Americans.
## Boeing ramps up production lines
Boeing has been working to increase production of its seven thirty seven Maxes and seven eighty seven Dreamliners.
## Key takeaway

The FAA certified Boeing's 737 Max 10 on Tuesday after years of delays caused by safety crises and engineering changes since the plane was originally scheduled for twenty twenty.
