## Brewers clinch bye despite loss
Milwaukee fell 6-4 to Philadelphia but locked in the No. 2 seed in the National League when Atlanta lost to Cincinnati. The Brewers get a first-round bye and home-field advantage in the NLDS.
## NLDS Game 1 set for October 3
The Brewers will host Game 1 of the NLDS on Saturday, October 3rd at American Family Field. The opponent and game time will be determined once the playoff bracket is finalized.
## May struggles again in tune-up
Dustin May, acquired from St. Louis at the trade deadline, gave up two runs in two innings against Philadelphia. He issued two walks and allowed Brandon Marsh's two-run homer, leaving him searching for answers before October.

> I don't feel like I've pitched my way into having a say into anything, so I'm just going to do what they tell me.
## Wheeler dominates early, then falters
Zack Wheeler struck out the Brewers' first seven hitters to set a Phillies franchise record and retired the first nine straight. But Milwaukee pecked away in the sixth inning to tie the game at 3-3 before Wheeler exited.
## Brewers rally in sixth inning
David Hamilton singled and stole second, then pulled off a double steal with Jackson Chourio. William Contreras followed with a two-run single to tie the game at 3-3 and force Wheeler out.
## Gordon impresses in debut
Left-hander Colton Gordon, acquired from Houston in July, opened his Milwaukee tenure with four scoreless, hitless innings. He pitched five total innings before trouble in the eighth when two runs scored on a controversial play.

> He can pitch. I'm very impressed.
## Controversial play costs Brewers
In the eighth inning, Bryson Stott singled and the ball hit Alec Bohm's foot as he slowed down to let a run score. Two runs scored on the play, giving Philadelphia a 6-3 lead that held up.
## Key takeaway

The Brewers have guaranteed themselves a first-round bye and home playoff games starting October 3rd, even though they lost to the Phillies.
