## A memorial defaced overnight
An eight-foot bronze statue of Charlie Kirk was found smeared with red paint outside Turning Point USA's Phoenix headquarters early Sunday, three days after it went up.
## Paint on the face and chest
Photos from the scene showed red paint across the statue's face and neck, with a frowning face painted on its chest. A memorial poster nearby was hit too.
## A Christian sign was targeted
Turning Point USA said the word "Jesus" and a cross on a nearby sign had been crossed out. The group called the act diabolical and quoted the Gospel of John.

> If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
## Police have no suspect
Phoenix officers responded to vandalism calls just after 8 a.m. on September 13. No arrest or suspect description had been announced, and tips go to Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
## Restored by Sunday evening
Spokesman Andrew Kolvet said the statue was cleaned up the same day, while the group reviewed surveillance footage with investigators.

> The team rallied and got the statue back looking good as new.
## One year since the shooting
Kirk was 31 when he was killed at Utah Valley University in September 2025. Tyler Robinson has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder, and a judge cleared the case for trial.
## Key takeaway

The statue was cleaned and restored the same day, but Phoenix police still have no suspect in the overnight vandalism.
