## A question about an empty podium
Reporters asked Dan Lanning on Monday why quarterback Dante Moore skipped media availability after Oregon's loss at Oklahoma State. The coach did not take it well.
## Two IVs, not a snub
Lanning said Moore was cramping on the field and took two IVs after the game. He pushed back on the idea that his quarterback chose to avoid the podium.

> I don't think he chose not to. Did you know he was getting an IV?
## A bus and a flight to catch
Beyond the treatment, Lanning noted the team was hurrying to leave Stillwater for Eugene. He promised Moore would speak the next day.

> Dante will be here tomorrow. You can talk to Dante, but he's cramping up on the field.
## Nobody told the press
A reporter pointed out that no one on staff explained Moore's absence. Lanning fired back with a repeated "Should it be?" about whether that was anyone's job.

> So before you write your article, they should say, 'Hey, just so you guys know...'
## The sarcastic sign-off
When the reporter said the silence risked misreadings, Lanning cut him off and ended the exchange with a two-word jab. It was not his first testy postgame moment.

> Well you misconstrued it. You could always ask me. Good job.
## The upset behind the tension
Unranked Oklahoma State beat Oregon 39-31. Moore threw for 191 yards and two scores on 14 completions and was sacked four times.
## Key takeaway

A coach defending his quarterback after an upset can turn a routine media question into the story itself.
