## A rock doc with a date
Def Leppard gets the feature treatment in Long Live Def Leppard, out in theaters in early 2027 from Bleecker Street's Crosswalk division.
## The first authorized one
Jeff Feuerzeig, who made The Devil and Daniel Johnston, directs an all-access account with the band's blessing. No prior authorized documentary exists.
## Sheffield to the Hot 100
The film follows the band from working class Sheffield to chart domination, including the No. 1 hit "Love Bites" and the No. 2 "Pour Some Sugar on Me."
## A fan since 1981
Feuerzeig saw them open for Ozzy Osbourne at Asbury Park's Convention Hall and never let go. All five members sat for new interviews, alongside unseen footage.

> These young lads from working-class Sheffield were punching far above their weight and playing for keeps.
## Two chapters that nearly ended it
Drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in a 1984 crash. Guitarist Steve Clark died in 1991. The band rebuilt around both losses and kept going.

> Those tragedies became defining moments in the band's history.
## Not the usual excess story
Feuerzeig frames it as heartwarming and often funny rather than a cautionary tale. The band, 110 million albums in, plays Florida on Oct. 15 before Latin America.

> This is not your typical sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll tale.
## Key takeaway

Long Live Def Leppard lands in theaters in early 2027, and its real subject is survival, not excess.
