> Democrats hold edge in bid for House control
## The midterms are about Trump
Voters in both parties frame the coming elections around the president rather than around their own local candidates.

> both Republicans and Democrats see the midterms as being about President Trump

## Who ran the numbers
Anthony Salvanto, CBS News executive director of elections and surveys, walked through the findings on the broadcast.
## Where it aired
Salvanto took the results to "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" for a closer look at what is driving the numbers.
## Why the edge matters
House control decides which party sets the agenda and holds the gavel on oversight, so an early polling lead is worth watching.
## Key takeaway

Democrats lead the battle for House control, and both sides are treating the midterms as a referendum on Trump.
