## Why digital legacy matters now
Most people have online accounts but no plan for what happens after they're gone.

> We live in a digital world. We're no longer paper and pencil anymore
## Who takes over your accounts
Choose trusted people to manage your online life when you're unable to do so.

> Who do you pick? Be really thoughtful about that
## Password access for families
Store passwords securely so family members can access your digital life without delays.

> How many people can get into your phone? Do they know the passcode to get in?
## Your digital story matters
Photos and videos become part of your legacy when you're gone.

> People don't just inherit your belongings, they inherit your story
## Check social media settings
Some platforms let you set up digital contacts ahead of time for easier access later.

> Check your social media accounts because a lot of them have ways to register your legacy contact
## Digital inheritance planning
Planning ahead makes it easier for loved ones to handle your online life after you're gone.

> If you want to take care of me, you've got to be able to get on my online
## Key takeaway

Designate digital contacts ahead of time to ensure your online life passes smoothly
