## A view of what was lost
Fuad Abu Salam drinks coffee each morning outside his rented home in Thinnabeh, gazing at the Tulkarem refugee camp where his destroyed home once stood in the distance.
## From four apartments to one small room
Abu Salam's former home in Tulkarem was a two-storey building with four apartments, each measuring three hundred square metres. His family of seven now shares a rented apartment of one hundred square metres in Thinnabeh.
## Partial destruction, permanent displacement
Abu Salam's home in Tulkarem was partially destroyed when he left the camp. He, his wife, four children and mother remain displaced, confined to their cramped rented space overlooking the ruins.
## Key takeaway

Fuad Abu Salam, displaced from Tulkarem refugee camp, now lives in a rented apartment one-third the size of his former home, which was partially destroyed.
