## DJI's new panoramic camera
DJI released the Osmo 360 II just over a year after its first panoramic action camera, designed to compete with the Insta360 X6. It brings higher frame rates, improved dynamic range and better low light capability.
## Price and availability
DJI priced the Osmo 360 II at 589 euros, or six hundred eighty dollars, well below the Insta360 X6's 699 euros. However, the Osmo 360 II is not available in the United States, unlike its main rival.
## How it captures 360 video
The Osmo 360 II has an ultrawide lens and one slash one point one inch eight K square sensor on both sides. Each camera captures a one hundred eighty degree view, stitched together in camera to create three hundred sixty degree video.
## Storage and transfer speeds
The Osmo 360 II has one hundred five gigabytes of internal storage, more than double the Insta360 X6's forty seven gigabytes. USB C transfer speeds are six hundred megabytes per second, compared to four hundred fifty megabytes per second for the X6.
## Battery improvements
The new two thousand one hundred fifty milliamp hour battery is up from one thousand nine hundred fifty milliamp hours. It charges from zero to one hundred percent in thirty nine minutes, compared to ninety one minutes for the original model.
## Easier lens replacement
The Osmo 360 II now has replaceable lenses, a major improvement over the original. DJI sells replacement lenses for thirty nine euros, or forty five dollars, in a kit with tools and instructions. Swapping them takes under five minutes.

> With the Osmo 360, a damaged lens meant you had to send the camera back to DJI.
## Video frame rate upgrades
The Osmo 360 II can now record eight K three hundred sixty video at up to sixty frames per second instead of fifty frames per second. It also shoots four K at one hundred twenty frames per second, up from one hundred frames per second.
## Dynamic range and low light
DJI boosted dynamic range from thirteen point five to fourteen point five stops. A new AI noise reduction algorithm called SuperNight two point zero allows higher ISO settings and faster shutter speeds at night to reduce motion blur.
## Daylight video quality
In daylight testing, the extra dynamic range was noticeable, with more detail available in both shadows and highlights. The camera produced vibrant, punchy video with color accurate rendering of human subjects, vegetation and cityscapes.
## Night video performance
The SuperNight two point zero setting improved motion blur by boosting shutter speeds while eliminating the plastic effect on people from aggressive noise reduction. The Osmo 360 II produced some of the best low light video seen on any action camera.
## Sharpness limitations
Even with eight K three hundred sixty resolution, the Osmo 360 II is clearly less sharp than DJI's Action six Pro after conversion to four K flat video. Resolution rates somewhere between one thousand eighty p and four K in the center, around seven hundred twenty p at the edges.
## Audio and microphone support
The Osmo 360 II has four internal microphones for ambient sound and in camera wind reduction. It can connect automatically to DJI's latest microphones, including the Mic three, Mic two, Mic Mini two S, Mic Mini two and Mic Mini.
## Editing software challenges
DJI's Studio app handles simple editing but lacks detailed color correction, effects and advanced titles. DJI introduced a new plugin for DaVinci Resolve called DJI Reframe, though the exporting process is painful and reduces image quality.
## Comparison with Insta360 X6
The Osmo 360 II has more storage, slightly higher three hundred sixty frame rates and a cheaper price than the Insta360 X6. The X6 has better battery life, lasting one hundred forty minutes at eight K thirty frames per second versus the Osmo's one hundred five minutes.
## Where to buy and pricing
The Osmo 360 II is now on sale for five hundred nine pounds in the UK or five hundred eighty nine euros in Europe. The Adventure Combo with extra batteries, charger and case costs six hundred thirty nine pounds and seven hundred thirty nine euros in the EU.
## Best for non US buyers
If you live in the US, the Insta360 X6 is the only choice since the Osmo 360 II is unavailable there. In Europe, Asia and elsewhere, the Osmo 360 II is a great panoramic camera pick offering excellent picture quality and specs for its category.
## Key takeaway

DJI's Osmo 360 II improves on its predecessor with faster frame rates and replaceable lenses, but remains unavailable in the United States.
