## DP World Tour draws a line
The European Tour, sponsored by DP World, will refuse membership to players who sign up for LIV Golf in the 2027 season. Players must choose which tour to join.

## What's at stake for players
Only DP World Tour members can play for Europe in the Ryder Cup. The tour's new rule means LIV players will lose that eligibility if they do not commit to the European circuit.
## A shift from past practice
In previous years, top players like Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton received conditional releases allowing them to play both tours. That flexibility will end for 2027 onwards.
## How the new rule works
Players must disclose which tours they intend to play next year. The DP World Tour will use those answers to decide on membership. False disclosure could lead to membership termination.
## Why the tour is taking action
LIV is offering players equity stakes in the league, which the DP World Tour sees as incompatible with its status as a members organisation. The move also reflects negotiations with the PGA Tour.
## LIV's uncertain future
LIV Golf filed for Chapter eleven bankruptcy in September and recently secured possible three hundred million dollars in financing from BC Partners Credit to attempt the twenty twenty-seven season.
## Players already backing away
Jon Rahm, a two-time major winner, has said he will not continue with LIV. Richard Bland is currently the only player to publicly state he wants to play LIV two point zero.
## Key takeaway

The DP World Tour will ban LIV Golf players from membership in 2027, requiring players to choose one tour over the other.
