## The tease starts
In August, Drake posted photos of his family captioned "FOMO 2026." No explanation, no release date, just the acronym.

## Then a CD cover
Two weeks later he shared an image of a disc titled "Fear of Missing Out," which read like a tracklist reveal without any tracks.
## Fans guessed wrong
Online speculation split three ways: a new album, a tour, or a music video. The video camp came closest.
## It's a film
On Saturday, Drake confirmed it himself. FOMO is a movie, and his family handled both the directing and the score.

## A neon yellow boat
The announcement clip shows Drake piloting a bright yellow speedboat while a woman narrates over the footage.
## Two versions of a life
The voiceover lays out the theme: one life where you dodge risk and hold back love, and another where you find what you were looking for.

> In one, you avoid risk and withhold love. You feel like you've gone missing from yourself.
## Key takeaway

FOMO is a self-described "not so short film" directed and scored by Drake's family, out next week.
