## Slipknot's Drummer Requirements
Slipknot told Eloy Casagrande they want personality and new ideas from drummers, not replication of past styles.

> Man, you don't have to be concerned about playing everything right. There is no wrong or right, but there is the soul of the band. There is the idea of the band, the attitude, the energy; that's what we want.
## Casagrande's Drumming Goals
Casagrande aims to respect Slipknot's drum arrangements while bringing his own energy and the band's soul.

> It's not like only playing notes correctly, but it's about having a different attitude. It's having the energy to keep the soul of the band alive.
## Replacing Joey Jordison
Casagrande joined Slipknot in 2024 after Jay Weinberg left, but Slipknot doesn't want another Joey Jordison.

> They don't want to have another Joey in the band. They made that very clear since day one. They're not trying to make myself play like Joey.
## Brazilian Rhythms in Metal
Casagrande's Brazilian background influences his drumming, which Slipknot members initially questioned but later embraced.

> He was like, 'Okay, but you know this is a metal band, right? This is a fucking metal band.'
