They had 74% possession but only netted three goals from 26 shots and conceded in the second half.
## Ruthlessness issue since 2023
England's lack of goal-scoring ruthlessness has been a recurring theme since finishing runners-up to Spain in the 2023 World Cup.
## Keira Walsh on final pass
Midfielder Keira Walsh said the team needs better final passes and shots in qualifying games.

> We played differently back then [in 2023]. There's a lot more pressure when you're at the World Cup
## Georgia Stanway leads scoring
Arsenal midfielder Georgia Stanway is England's top scorer since Euro 2025 with 10 goals.
## Sarina Wiegman's improvement plan
Manager Sarina Wiegman emphasized final passes, correct timing, and player connections for better goal-scoring.

> We got in good positions but then it's staying onside, having the final pass, the right pass at the right moment
## England's goal-scoring challenges
They have not won any games since Euro 2025 where they trailed, losing to Brazil and Spain.

England's Women's World Cup qualifying team lacks goal-scoring ruthlessness despite a 3-1 win over Greece.
